William Hamilton born in London. He and his brother James joined the Engl ish
Navy and separated and never seen each other again. During the war of 18 12 in
or near New Orleans William left the ship never to return. He swam the
Mississippi River and made his way to Washington, Louisiana Married a Rid er in
1820. Williams 2nd marriage was to a Widow Horton of Ten Mile.
